New Year, New Hours at CKPL
Chatham-Kent Public Library is looking forward to welcoming you back to your branch with new, extended hours in the New Year! As CKPL continues to support the community by offering access to valued library services with additional health and safety measures in place, some branches will offer extended hours starting January 4, 2021. Please visit your local branch or ckpl.ca to find out the detailed hours for your branch.
Along with these changes, CKPL will be taking more steps toward a “new normal”. This means that materials’ due dates will return to regular, pre-pandemic lengths. Books will be checked out for 3 weeks, Express Reads will be relaunching and check out for 1 week, magazines and DVDs will return to a 1 week loan period. Library staff will be glad to review this information with patrons as needed.
Another change will be that overdue fines for all library materials will be reinstated on January 2, 2021. If you have library materials that have been checked out since before CKPL’s closure, please return them to your nearest branch at your earliest convenience. It is important to note, that CKPL continues to quarantine materials for 3 days and this will not affect your account status (no overdues will be charged during quarantine periods).
Having trouble with your card? It may be expired! If you have questions about CKPL’s new hours, overdue fees or your account status, please “Ask CKPL” by phone at 519.354.2940, text at 519.401.7174, chat on Facebook @CKPLibrary or email CKPL at firstname.lastname@example.org.
