The Chatham-Kent Public Library (CKPL) wants CK residents passionate about the library to apply for the seven volunteer citizen appointee positions on the library board. Applicants should have well-developed skills in advocacy, fund raising, policy making, strategic planning or board governance.
As a governing board under the Ontario Libraries Act, the board sets the strategic direction for CKPL, oversees its budget and financial expenditures, advocates on its behalf and appoints the CEO. It consists of seven residents of Chatham-Kent appointed by Municipal Council and four Councillors.
Appointments are for a four year term with a minimum of seven meetings held annually, generally on the fourth Tuesday of the month. More information can be found on the CKPL website or at any of CKPL's 11 branches.
Applications must be submitted by 2:00 pm October 28, 2022 and may be completed online by visiting www.letstalkchatham-kent.ca or by a paper copy which may be picked up at any Municipal Centre or CKPL branch.
