Baby Weigh in and Child Development Clinics

A Public Health Nurse is available to weigh your baby and answer questions about feeding your baby, parenting and growth and development. Clinics occur in various communities throughout Chatham-Kent each week. Please contact 519.352.7270, ext. 2903 for local clinics.

Refuge Breastfeeding Clinic

A drop-in program for all prenatal and breastfeeding mothers. Come for breastfeeding help or just a coffee and a chat. Program runs the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. at Refuge, 39 Grand Avenue West, Chatham.

Healthy Babies Healthy Children

A free program for expectant parents and families with children up to the age of six that provides advice, support, information, and connections to community agencies that will help meet the needs of the family. The Healthy Babies, Healthy Children Program is designed to give children more opportunities for a better start in life by encouraging healthy child development and increasing parent confidence and skills. A Public Health Nurse and Family Home Visitor will visit you in your home. For more information call 519.352.7270, ext. 2903.

As Parent and Baby Grow

A mom and baby group in Wallaceburg discussing various topics for babies under 9 months of age. Group takes place the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month from 10:00 - 11:30 a.m.

Car Seat Clinics

Have your car seat checked by a trained professional. We offer monthly clinics in Chatham, by appointment only, on the third Tuesday of each month. To book an appointment please call 519.352.7270, ext. 2903.

18 month Developmental Screening

This is an important time to check your child’s growth and development. Ask your health care provider for the 18 month Healthy Development Package when your child receives their 18 month immunization. For those without a health care provider, clinics are available to provide immunizations, developmental checks and parent support. Call Chatham-Kent Public Health Clinic Services at 519.355.1071 and press 8.

"One Day at a Time" - Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorder  Support Group

A weekly support group for pregnant and new moms with anxiety and depression. For more information call 519.352.7270, ext. 2903.

First Five Years

A video and discussion based parenting series focused on learning about the stages of development, parenting styles, behaviour, discipline, parenting skills and school readiness for children 0 – 5 years old. For more information call 519.352.7270, ext. 2903.

NutriSTEP®

Do you want to see how well your child is eating? NutriSTEP® is a fast and simple questionnaire to assess eating habits and to identify nutrition problems, including growth and overweight issues. Questionnaires are available for ages 18 months to 5 years of age. You can easily access NutriSTEP® online at http://www.nutristep.ca.
