Class Descriptions 

We offer a diverse selection of Aquafit classes and every class has something unique to offer. Before you join your first aqua fitness program, it's important to identify exactly what you're hoping to gain. We've provided descriptions below to help you choose the class that is right for you. 


  • Style: Upbeat workouts which highlight cardiovascular health and interval training
  • Focus: Targeted muscle groups, cardio and flexibility
  • Other: Suitable for the general public and includes many differentiation strategies to accommodate everyone

Gentle Aquafit 
  • Style: Low-intensity workout to reduce the amount of stress placed on joints
  • Focus: Strengthen core muscles, improve balance and increase range of motion
  • Other: Suitable for older adults, participants with joint ailments, those recovering from injuries and anyone who is starting aquafit for the first time

Deep-End Aquafit

  • Style: Upbeat resistance training
  • Focus: Targeted core muscles and cardio
  • Other: Performed in the deep end with the use of a belt

Tethered Aquafit

  • Style: Vigorous workouts which highlight cardiovascular health and resistance training
  • Focus: Targeted muscle groups and cardio
  • Other: Performed in the deep end, participants are connected to a lane rope with a bungee cord
