The Accessible Transit Wallaceburg services is for individuals who live within the city limits of the community of Wallaceburg. For a map of the service boundary click: See Map

The boundary roads are:

  • Baseline Road from Chenal Road to Albert Street including Baldoon Road and Labadie Street
  • McKee Road from Forhan Street to Otter Line including Water Street
  • Lilian Street
  • Highland Drive
  • Cemetery Road from Wallace to John Park Line (at CSX Tracks)

Fare

The transit fare details are as follows:

  • Fare: $3.00 per person per one way trip

  • Exact Fare Only

  • Smarcard fare products are available for purchase in increments of $30 up to $90

  • Payable upon entering the vehicle

  • Tickets may be purchased at the Wallaceburg Municipal Service Centre

  • Coming Soon: On-line re-loading

Hours of Service

The hours of service are:

  • Monday – Saturday - 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

  • Sunday - 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.(excluding Holidays)

Who Can Use It?

You can use this service for the following purposes: employment, education, medical, personal, business, or leisure activities. Booking priorities follow the same order.

Applications are approved on a permanent or temporary basis depending on the individuals need.

How Do I Register?

You can apply for the Accessible Transit Wallaceburg Service by:

  • Attending the Wallaceburg Municipal Service Centre located at 786 Dufferin Ave to pick up a form in person or

  • Attend the Chatham-Kent Civic Centre (315 King Street West, Chatham) to pick up a form in person, or

  • Telephone 519.360.1998 and request an application or

  • Click here: Application Form

The Application must:

  • Be filled out by applicant, or designated person, giving reasons for request to use the Accessible Transit Wallaceburg Service

  • State if the application is to be permanent or temporary

  • Be either signed by the applicant or signed on behalf of the applicant

  • Be signed by attending doctor or nurse practitioner giving his/her medical reasons why applicant needs the use of the Accessible Transit Wallaceburg Service

How to Book a Ride

You can book a ride by calling CKTransit Service at 519.436.3233.

Be sure to:

  • Book your return trip at the same time

  • Book appointments 24 hours in advance - trips are booked on a first-call, first-serve basis subject to priority list as follows: employment, education, medical, personal, business, or leisure activities. 

Provide the following information:

  • Your Name

  • Exact address of pick-up and destination

  • Desired time of pickup

  • If you will be accompanied by an attendant

Can Someone Come With Me?

If you require an attendant to assist you on the Accessible Transit Wallaceburg bus (as indicated on your approved application form) the attendant must be present at all times and will travel free of charge.

All companions not designated as an attendant are subject to the $3.00 Fare per person per one way ride.

Can I Cancel My Trip?

Please give 24 hours notice. Insufficient notice of cancellation may result in full-fare payment.

Will I Be Able to Get a Ride on a Regular Basis?

A standing arrangement for service is available for persons who are travelling at a regular time to and/or from a destination such as work, post-secondary school, or medical facility.

Users Responsibilities

The following guidelines must be followed:

  • Have exact fare ready

  • Be ready five (5) minutes ahead of your scheduled time

  • The Driver is not required to wait more than five (5) minutes past your appointed pick-up time

  • If you must cancel, please do so at least 24 hours in advance

  • Be as flexible as possible in regards to your arrangements for a ride. Allow up to twenty (20) minutes wait from your scheduled pick-up time, especially in bad weather

  • All passengers must wear seatbelts

  • All personal belongings must be in your care and control at all times

  • No smoking
