The Express Collection contains a changing array of new and popular titles -- Express Reads (books) and Express Views (DVDs).
A Fast Moving Collection
Holds queues can be lengthy and we know that some of you who can finish a book or a DVD faster than our standard loan periods. This collection provides you with an option: wait for your turn on the holds queue and enjoy a longer loan period, or pick it up sooner from the Express shelves and return it quickly.
No Holds
Express collection items are loaned on a "first come first served" basis. Items in this collection cannot be placed on hold, nor can they be set aside for pickup. Holds can be placed on the items in our regular collections and if you are fortunate enough to get the item sooner from the Express shelves, you can take your name off the holds list.
Short Loan Periods, No Renewals
The collection is called Express for a reason! The loan periods for these items are shorter than our regular collections. Express Reads may be checked out for 7 days. Express Views may be checked out for 2 days.
Fines are $1 per day for an Express Read and $2 per day for an Express View.
