Borrow ebooks and audiobooks for adults, teens and children from cloudLibrary and OverDrive. Titles automatically expire after the loan period (no late fees!) although you can return most titles early. You can also place holds on items that are already signed out by another library patron.

Borrow movies, TV shows, music and comics from hoopla digital, as well as ebooks and audiobooks, with no waiting (simultaneous use) and no holds lists! Stream movies for all ages with Kanopy! 

There are no limits on the number of digital magazines you can check out using RB Digital and Flipster and no waiting!  

TumbleBooks offers animated picture books, ebooks, read-along chapter books, graphic novels and more in English, French and Spanish. These collections are targeted to youth from preschool to high school.

CKPL's Local History Digital Collection includes a mixture of local directories, almanacs, municipal documents and items created by local authors. The collection includes over 150 resources all focused on exploring Chatham-Kent’s rich history.

OverDrive

OverDrive

Check out up to 10 ebooks, audiobooks and videos from OverDrive. You can choose a 7 or 14 day loan period for ebooks and audiobooks. Videos expire after 3, 5 or 7 days.

Enjoying eBooks and audiobooks from OverDrive on your tablet, smartphone, and computer is easy with the Libby app for iOS 9.0 or later, Android 4.4 and up, and Windows 10. If you have an older device that isn’t compatible with Libby, you can access Overdrive with the original OverDrive app. You can also borrow books from OverDrive directly from the Kobo catalogue if you have a Kobo Forma, Kobo Clara HD, Kobo Auro H2O Edition 2, Kobo Aura Edition 2 or a Kobo Aura One with updated firmware. 

You will have to use Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) and transfer ebooks onto Older Model eReaders (Kobo Touch / Glo / Mini / Sony). Unfortunately, Adobe no longer supports Digital Editions. OverDrive also acknowledges this problem. As these changes are out of the Library's control, our ability to help you with downloading and transferring using ADE is limited. You can also consult Adobe Digital Editions community forums, where you can ask or answer inquiries about issues with the software.

Download movies, music, TV shows, comics, ebooks and audiobooks from hoopla digital. You can borrow up to 10 items per month. Movies and TV shows expire after 3 days, music after 7 days, and ebooks, audiobooks and comics after 21 days.

You can access hoopla on iOS 11.0 or later, Android 4.4 and up, and through Airplay, Android TV, Amazon FireStick, Apple TV, Chromecast or Roku. Kanopy

kanopyBorrow up to 10 movies per month from over 30,000 classic films, world cinema, documentaries and popular movies available for on-demand streaming. Movies expire after 3 days (unlimited views on multiple devices). Find titles in the Chatham-Kent Public Library online catalogue or link directly to the kanopy website. You can stream movies in a web browser on your computer or laptop or use an app to download to your iOS or Android device.

RB Digital Magazines (previously Zinio)

RB Digital MagazinesLink directly to the library's RB Digital Magazines website to checkout a magazine to your account. No limits and no waiting.
You will need to download the RB Digital reader app and create an RB Digital account to check out and read magazines. Scroll to the bottom of the RB Digital Magazines website home page to find links for downloading the RB Digital app. View the RB Digital user guide for tips.

Flipster Digital Magazines

FlipsterCheck out Flipster to download digital copies of your favorite magazines! No limits and no waiting.

These magazines can be accessed and browsed through your computer, tablet or phone and downloaded onto the Flipster App for offline reading. You can get the free app for both iOS and Android devices.

Cantook Station - French eBooks Collection

Cantook Cantook Station offers more than 500 French eBooks, with titles available across all categories and for all age groups. View the resource in French by selecting “FR” from the language menu in the top right-hand corner of the screen. To browse French eBooks, either visit the “Catalogue” tab or conduct a search and filter your results for French.


TumbleBooks

The TumbleBooks collection includes: TumbleBook Library and TumbleBook Cloud Junior. Both databases provide anywhere, anytime access to thousands of books available in English, French and Spanish.

    Tumblebook Library

    TumbleBook Library is a collection best for students in kindergarten to grade five. It includes animated talking picture books, language learning books, read-alongs, and nonfiction books, as well as dozens of educational games, puzzles, and comprehension quizzes.

    TumbleBookCloud Junior

    TumbleBookCloud Junior is a collection of ebooks and read-along chapter books, non-fiction books, graphic novels, educational videos, and audio books. It is designed for students in grades three to six.
