CK Reads

We are proud to announce that our 2019 CK Reads title is "City of the Lost" by Kelley Armstrong! Request your copy today! CK Reads is a community-wide book club where everyone in Chatham-Kent is invited to read the same book. Through discussions and programs, CK Reads hopes to bring the community closer together through a shared love of reading!


Dates: Every Thursday - 6 week session, January 10, 17, 24, 31, February 7 and 14
Time: 10:45 am
Ages: 2, 3 and 4

Children, parents and caregivers will enjoy stories, songs, fingerplays, rhymes and rhythm instruments and crafts. Registration required.

Parent-Child  Mother Goose

Dates: Tuesdays, January 15 to April 2
Time: 10:00 am

Songs, rhymes and stories for children 0-18 months and their caregivers.  Please bring a blanket to sit on.

Frosty the Snowman on 16 mm Film

Date: Tuesday, January 15
Time: 6:30 pm

Warm up and join us for a family friendly movie at the library!  We will have juice and popcorn. No registration required.

Reading Buddies

Dates: January 17, 24, 31, February 7, 14, 21, 28, March 7
Appointment times: 6:00 pm / 6:30 pm / 7:00 pm

Reading Buddies offer free one-on-one assistance to children in grades 1 thru grade 6 who like practice reading.  Volunteers spend 30 minutes with each child encouraging and motivating them to read using literacy-based games, activities and high-interest readers. Registration required. 

Community Wellness Day

Date: Thursday, January 24
Time: 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm

A one hour yoga session will be offered by Wallaceburg's very own Cathy Cogghe from the Wallaceburg Wellness Centre from 2:30 pm to 3:30 pm. St. John's Ambulance therapy dogs will then come to say hello from 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm and an arts and crafts table will be available for those that are feeling creative. Please come by and join us to boost your sense of wellness and community over the cold winter months! Registration required for Yoga. 

Around the Campfire Family Literacy Day Program

Beat the Odds Too! Diabetes Information Session

Presented by Chatham-Kent Community Health Centre

12:30 pm to 2:30 pm

A free program designed to increase your awareness about the prevention of diabetes.  Learn new skills to make lasting changes to your health and well-being.

You can meet with a Dietitian to guide your nutrition and/or weight management. The Kinesiologist for education and instruction relating to prediabetes and exercise. The Nurse for discussions of health status management. The Social Worker for education and support sessions related to prediabetes and change. Take charge of your health today!

Adult Colouring and Puzzles

What a great way to spend a few minutes or hours! Colouring is a great way to de-stress and relax. Open to everyone ages 16 and older. We even provide the materials! We have a large poster to complete that reads, "Love Your Library." Drop in. 

Chicks with Sticks

Date: Thursday afternoons
Time: 1:30 to 3:00 pm 

Do you like to knit or crochet? Would you like to learn how? Join us every Thursday afternoon to trade patterns, give suggestions or to learn how to knit or crochet. Always something different for the change in season!

Group / School Visits

Class visits or group visits are always welcome at the Wallaceburg Branch. Come for a visit, browse the books, find out about our free databases or participate in a program designed just for you.
