2019 CKPL'S TOP STORIES
- Book Bash Canadian Children's Literature Festival hosted 668 students,
680 community members and brought together 25 community partners.
- Community Navigators supported 1,448 people and resolved 1,875 issues.
- 2019 CK Reads title "City of the Lost" by Kelley Armstrong had 530 readers and
brought 75 people to the author's feature event.
- 720 residents were served at CKPL's Low-Income Tax Clinics in 2019.
- Fines Free TD Summer Reading Club waived $5,447.00 in fines and aided 2,730
kids who borrowed 66,000 items over the summer!
- "Food for Fines" brought patrons back by waiving $3,232.47 in fines and
collecting 1,433 food items for local food banks.
- CKPL Grows! Seed Library circulated 4,321 packages of seeds to CK residents.
