Youth Job Search
When submitting a resume in person to a potential employer:
Dress as if you are going to an interview
Ask if you can give your resume to the manager or supervisor
Bring a copy of your references
Keep track of places you have applied to so you can follow up
Call back in a week or two to follow up as it shows your interest
Have a professional (sounding) email address for applying to work and online job applications
Remember potential employers can search your online presence using the email address you provide on your resume

Futurpreneur Canada supports young entrepreneurs with up to $45,000 in financing, an expert business mentor for up to two years, and resources to help you plan, manage & grow your business.
Summer Company
Learning how to run your own student business is one of the best summer jobs you can have. You get to be your own boss while learning what it takes to manage a business. Sales, marketing, book-keeping, customer relationship management and networking are just a few of the useful skills you can develop.

Youth Job Connection (YJC)
The Youth Job Connection program serves youth aged 15 to 29 who experience multiple and/or complex barriers to employment by providing more intensive supports beyond traditional job search and placement opportunities. Find out more

School Within a College - Duel Credit Program
School within a College students attend a college campus five days a week to work on OSSD credits with high school teachers. SWAC students also have the opportunity to take up to four duel credits. Duel credit courses receive a high school diploma and the appropriate college courses.

Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program
The Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP) is a School to Work program that opens the door for students to explore and work in apprenticeship occupations starting in Grade 11 or 12 through a Cooperative Education program. Students have an opportunity to become registered apprentices and work towards becoming certified journeypersons in a skilled trade while completing their secondary school diplomas.
