Chatham-Kent Emergency Child Care is NOW EXTENDED to January 22, 2021
In order to support eligible families with the care of their school age children, many Chatham-Kent Child Care Operators are providing licensed school-age child care at no cost.
Chatham-Kent's local Medical Officer of Health has determined that school populations may not be combined in order to prevent further spread of COVID-19.
If you are eligible and require child care, please complete the Emergency School Age Child Care Application form and submit to the child care centre your child attends. If your child does not attend a child care centre, please submit your application to email@example.com, as additional child care operators may join this list shortly.
Targeted Emergency Child Care Services are reserved exclusively for the school age children of eligible Families indicated by the Ministry of Education, who have exhausted all other child care alternatives, and will be working in an approved occupation and place of employment during the time the schools are closed. If elementary schools remain closed for an extended period based on provincial direction, this application may be extended as well.
Parents applying for emergency child care are asked to complete an Emergency School Age Child Care Application Form and produce proof of eligibility (e.g. a work I.D. Badge). If there is a secondary adult in the home, they must give verbal attestation that they are working during this time, as well.
While Schools are Closed, Emergency Child Care is Available to Eligible families (Click red button below for list - may be subject to change)
