Visitors will love the many aspects of the RM 40th Aniversary Celebration, June 21-22, 2019

RM's 40th Anniversary celebration is being recognized with style and this is one weekend you won't want to miss being in Chatham-Kent for. Taking place alongside RetroFest, visitors and car enthusiasts alike are guaranteed an unforgettable weekend all around. This year, RetroFest has moved from its traditional May date to June, to coincide with RM Anniversary Celebrations, June 21 and 22. That gives visitors a multitude of activities to take in across Chatham-Kent on both Friday and Saturday of this classic car filled weekend. Along with all of the events associated with RetroFest and RM's 40th Anniversary, visitors in Chatham-Kent this weekend can also take in the Erieau Blvd of Dreams, the Paincourt Tractor Pull and the Thamesville Threshing Festival. 

Accommodations are limited, but you may be able to secure last minute cancellations at our hotels, bed and breakfasts, or choose to make camping reservations. 

A great daytripping weekend, the Classic Car Capitol of Canada is located within an hour drive from the Windsor-Detroit Borders and the Sarnia-Port Huron Borders, and only an hour from London as well. Take advantage of the short drive and visit Chatham-Kent during this spectacular weekend!


Parade on King Street, 3 p.m. 

Line up early on King Street in downtown Chatham and don't miss an incredible parade featuring the Batmobile, Flint Stone Cars on floats, two life size mechanical elephants and more! Don't forget your lawn chairs!

Classic Car Cruise, 6 p.m. 

The Classic Car Cruise leaves from the John D. Bradley Convention Centre at 6 p.m. and will arrive in downtown Chatham at 7 p.m.

Sam Roberts Band, 7:30 p.m., Tecumseh Park

Gates open at 6 p.m., "Walking '47 takes the stage at 7:30 followed by "Sam Roberts Band" at 9 p.m. Advance tickets are $20 plus handling fee. At the gate (if available) $25.Purchase tickets HERE. Proceeds benefit the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation.


To make your visit even easier, shuttle buses will be running to and from RM Museum to take in the spectacle of events taking place at One Classic Car Drive. More details can be found HERE

Concours D'Elegance, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

The RM40 Concours d'Elegance is taking place at One Classic Car Drive, just off of the 401 at Communication Road. This spectacular event will feature some of the rarest and most beautiful cars in the world. Purchase tickets HERE. Proceeds Benefit the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance Foundation.

RM Museum Tours, 9 a.m. 

Take a rare tour and look inside the RM Museum at some of the rarest and most beautiful cars all in one spot at the same time. 

Art at RM, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.

RM Sotheby's has teamed up with Art in the Park at Talbot Trail Place to bring dozens of artists and makers to Art at RM.

Downtown Chatham Car Show, 9 a.m.

The annual Kent Historic Auto Club Classic Car Show is back with cars lined up along King Street for your viewing pleasure. All cars are at least 25 years old. 

Tecumseh Park Activities, 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Live music, vendors and family friendly activities will fill the park. Look for the Chatham-Kent Tourism booth and be sure to stop by to learn more about the many great Classic Car events this summer!

Big Sugar 

"Big Sugar" takes to the stage at the Chatham Capitol Theatre on King Street at 8 p.m. Purchase tickets HERE
