On Thursday, April 11th, 2019, Peterborough & the Kawarthas Tourism is inviting rural tourism stakeholders, destination marketing organizations and tourism businesses from across Ontario to join us for the Rural Tourism Symposium. This year’s theme will be “Redefining Success”.

Tourism is an important economic driver and community builder in destinations throughout the province. This event has been designed to raise the profile of rural tourism as an integral part of the provincial and national visitor experience. This one-day event will be jam-packed with content specifically targeted to the rural tourism industry. This symposium seeks to inspire tourism industry professionals to redefine their success by leveraging up, capitalizing on opportunities and partnering for success.

This event is presented in partnership with Chatham-Kent Tourism. This event is also supported by Grey County Tourism, Simcoe County Tourism, Headwaters Tourism, Kawartha Lakes Tourism, and Kawarthas-Northumberland (RTO8).

TIAC Tourism Town Hall (3:30 pm – 5:00 pm)

TIAC's 2019 Tourism Town Hall series is an event partnership between the Tourism Industry Association of Canada, Destination Canada and local industry partners. Tourism Town Halls provide an opportunity to engage small and medium-sized business owner operators across Canada to better understand efforts being made on national tourism issues. For the Town Hall in Peterborough & the Kawarthas, we will welcome Michele Harris (Director of Economic & Community Development, Municipality of Grey Highlands) as the moderator of a lively panel discussion.
