November 26 meetings on Lake Erie Shoreline Study moved to Links of Kent Golf Club

Due to logistical reasons, the Tuesday, November 26 Community Meetings for the Chatham-Kent Lake Erie Shoreline Study are being moved to the Links of Kent Golf Club Event Centre at 120 Indian Creek Rd. W, Chatham, ON

The times of the sessions remained unchanged as follows:

Session 1 - 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm

Session 2 - 6:00 pm to 8:30 pm

The Chatham-Kent Lake Erie Shoreline Study Team will provide an update of activities and present the draft adaptation concepts and management options for the following regions of the shoreline:

  • High Bluff Areas,
  • Erie Beach, Erie Shore Drive, and the Dyked Farmland,
  • Flood-prone Communities around Rondeau Bay; and
  • Federal Navigation Channel and Rondeau Barrier Beach.

Following the formal presentation and question period, community members will engage in facilitated break-out groups to discuss the adaptation concepts by geographic region. The smaller-group discussions will give participants an opportunity to evaluate the options using community-based criteria as well as regulatory and legislative requirements. For example, the ability of the options to protect public safety, their permanence and durability, affordability, and benefits to the coastal ecosystem will be reviewed and discussed.

The same information will be presented at both sessions.

Due to capacity limits, space for each session is somewhat limited. Therefore, we are still asking that people please register for a specific session by calling 519-360-1998 or you can email your preferred time to, by Friday, November 22, 2019.  **Note: if you have already registered for a Session there is no need to do so again.
