This working lunch event is scheduled for July 25, 2019 at 11:30 am in the conference area of the Willow Ridge Golf & Country Club in Blenheim. The session features presentations from experts in Employment Ontario Programs, Municipal Social Services Programs, and Chatham-Kent’s Community Attraction and Promotion services.

“We are thrilled with the reaction we have had to the events so far as employers across Chatham-Kent have been thanking us for hosting this workshop,” said Anthony Wilson, Economic Development Officer with Chatham-Kent Economic Development. “Our goal is to help businesses of all sizes and industry understand how they can access municipal, provincial, and federal programs and funding that will take their workforce to the next level.”

“After our successful event in Tilbury which saw businesses from as far away as Bothwell attend, we knew it only made sense to host the next session in Blenheim,” said Wilson. “The follow up to the sessions has been very positive with more employers connecting with partners and resources in ways they never have before.”

In the Blenheim session, businesses will learn how to access incentives and programs available to hire, train, and develop their workforce. In addition, they will connect with experts who will help them to develop a customizable talent attraction and retention strategy specific to their business.

“It’s not just about us providing information, it’s also about cross-connecting people. At several of the sessions businesses were sharing their challenges and solutions with each other and our experts were able to help them build on the successes with new ideas,” said Andrew Tompsett, Marketing and Communications Officer for Chatham-Kent Economic Development. “In one instance we had a business who was looking at how to hire their first employee talking to the owners of a manufacturing business who were looking to double their workforce in the next few years. The discussion and experiences expressed were invaluable to both companies as they were able to have several ‘ah-ha’ moments.”

The free event is open to anyone with a business and registration for the event is available by visiting www.investck.ca or by calling Economic Development at 519-351-7700.
