Chatham-Kent Economic Development Services and the Small Business Centre in partnership with WEtech Alliance and 42 North Integrated Marketing, are bringing together local and regional technology leaders to discuss the new media landscape and the integration with technology. The event, which is called TeCK Night Chatham-Kent 3, is being held on October 24, 2018, starting at 6:00 p.m. at 19 Story Street in Blenheim, Ontario.
“This is a unique opportunity for business to meet and discuss the impact that shifting technology has on the way they are communicating with their customers and partners” said Andrew Tompsett, Marketing and Communications Officer with Chatham-Kent Economic Development Services. “In recent years, how we look at marketing and communications has changed dramatically. At this event we are going to sit down with an expert panel and dive into the trends surrounding new technologies and their future impact on marketing and communication strategies.”
The panel will offer a variety of timely topics including how social media is changing the way people engage with the media and customers; the growth of citizen journalism and blogging and the role of traditional media in new media landscape; how consumer expectations are shifting; and the challenges and opportunities of using modern media.
“We have a great panel that will offer insights into how marketers and companies must respond to a rapidly evolving media environment,” said Yvonne Pilon, CEO, WEtech Alliance. “At WEtech Alliance, we have seen a shift in the media industry which includes traditional marketing and communications practices. The fragmentation of audiences is altering how companies need to do business.”
“Thanks to a focus on Internet marketing, we have seen a significant upswing in our customer demand. There is no doubt that new media is having a positive influence on finding customers and helping them find us,” said Mike Kilby, owner of Dajcor Aluminum Ltd.
TeCK Night will be moderated by Adam Castle, Director of Venture Services, WEtech Alliance and will feature the following panelists:
- Pat Whalen, Director, 42 North Integrated Marketing
- Ben Srokosz, Owner/Partner, GATTA Creative
- Duane Acorn, Manager - Media Strategy, Postmedia
- Katie Stokes, Founder and Marketing and Content Specialist, Blab Media
“This event is ideal for businesses of all sizes, both small businesses that are new and developing, and also established advanced manufacturing companies who need to look at global marketing,” said Geoff Wright, Business Development Officer with Economic Development Services at the Municipality.
The event is open to business owners and the public. Additional information can be found on the Chatham-Kent Small Business Centre website at http://www.investck.ca.
