Samantha Delargy Nutrition is a healthy business in the business of healthy living

One solid plan, hundreds helped, and $5000 later, business owner Samantha Delargy is proving that her business was the right choice to receive the Chatham-Kent Small Business Centre Starter Company Plus businesses grant. Samantha owns and operates both Samantha Delargy Nutrition and also Sam’s Kitchen from her location at 90 Catherine Street in Blenheim. Backed by Samantha’s education and experience as a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner, the businesses are focused on creating a healthy lifestyle that includes proper eating, fitness, and overall wellness.

“My passion is to help people who are struggling with digestive issues, hormone imbalances, and are trying to lose weight and keep it off,” said Samantha. “We dive deep into uncovering the root cause of their struggles, so that they can get their energy back and live their best life.”

In 2017, exactly one year ago today, Samantha submitted the final version of her business plan for review by the Small Business Centre where she hoped to be in contention for a Starter Company Plus grant.

“I had been working with Samantha for quite some time, helping her to identify the core components of her business and set some strategic goals,” said Rosemarie Montgomery, Business Consultant with the Chatham-Kent Small Business Centre. “When we first met, Samantha had a million ideas and she needed help forming them into a structure with which she could take action. She still has a million ideas, but now with a strong focus she is growing her business and has become a real success.”

“You know, I had no idea what I was doing starting up my own business,” says Samantha. So, she approached the staff at the Chatham-Kent Small Business Centre for free advice and assistance. “They helped me a ton,” she says. “I’m not really sure where I would have been without their help.”

Samantha’s friendly, personable approach is very genuine and has a motto of Just. Eat. Real. Food. She teaches people who want to improve their health a simple way of eating that does not involve giving up their favourite foods. Samantha combines her website and social media education programs with face-to-face nutrition counselling and cooking classes.

Her services include a Free 5 Day Challenge to End Carb Cravings, the 28 Day Nutrition Challenge, and the Faster Fat Loss 12 Week Program. Samantha provides exact strategies, recipes and tools such as grocery lists and meal plans to help you reach your weight loss and health goals. Samantha has also teamed up with Postma Fitness Centre in Blenheim to provide counselling and health products to folks in the gym who combine good nutrition with good exercise.

Sam’s Kitchen is another part of the business. If you don’t have the time or inclination to cook healthy, delicious meals or even pack a lunch, then Samantha will do it for you. Order by 5:00 p.m. Friday and pick your order up between 12:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Monday at 90 Catherine Street, Blenheim.

“I am helping people to eat healthier, reduce the amount of sugar they consume, reduce inflammation, and just all-around feel really good,” she says. “I work with clients to create customized programs for them. These include diet and lifestyle recommendations, as well as meal plans. Together we focus on making healthy sustainable changes in their lives.”

Samantha adds that business is flourishing and that she has many one-on-one clients and they are seeing a lot of excellent results. “I have had more than 300 people do the online challenge and they’ve had optimum results – weight loss, energy increase – it’s just been awesome.”

Her business growth does not stop there. Samantha is also working with the Blenheim & Community Senior Centre to run cooking classes, working with the Life By Design Centre, and is providing free seminars about nutrition and health to businesses as a staff education opportunity.

It turns out a healthy body and a healthy business have much in common – they both take good advice, systematic planning, hard work and smart engagement with the community. Samantha Delargy is succeeding on both fronts!
