Mylen Custom Kitchens Recognized as Feature Industry of the Month

Chatham-Kent Economic Development Services in partnership with the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Mylen has been recognized as the Chatham-Kent Feature Industry of the Month. Mylen is an industry leader in the design, engineering, and manufacture of an array of custom cabinet and countertops for kitchens, vanities, laundry/mud rooms, walk-in closets, wall units, and bars.

Mylen is also a distinguished corporate community partner and throughout their 30 years in Chatham-Kent, the company and employees have donated countless hours of time and financial assistance to a variety of local community groups.

“We want to be more than just a business, we make it part of our core values to be a positive force both locally and around the world,” said Eric Hart, General Manager of Mylen. “We strive to be a leader in environmental stewardship and recognize the importance of protecting the environment and using resources responsibly.”

Formed in 1988, Mylen began its operation as a partnership and in 2013 was incorporated. Owned and operated by Mike, Tina, and Eric Hart, Mylen is managed by a Senior Management Team of five individuals and employs 56 staff operating two shifts.

Located at 33 Park Street and 97 Centre Street in Chatham, Ontario, Mylen operates from three buildings totalling 18,000 square feet and have plans to expand an additional 2,650 square feet in manufacturing space.

“It’s a great local success story and I’m thrilled that Chatham-Kent is recognizing this generational business for their hard work,” said Geoff Wright, Economic Development Officer with Chatham-Kent Economic Development. “Mylen is creating good jobs, with skilled employees, and producing a fantastic product, it just makes sense that they are a Feature Industry.”

A key part of Mylen’s success is their focus on continual innovation. “There will always be aspects of craftsmanship that can never be replaced, but as new technology becomes available we are always looking at how it can be incorporated into our business so we can build the best product for our customers,” said Hart. “Our customers are our number one focus and it just makes sense that we continue to innovate and be dynamic in how we approach our manufacturing processes so they can see the results.”
