Municipality of Chatham-Kent Seeks Director of Economic Development Services

On August 16, 2018, the Municipality announced the transition of Economic Development into the Community Development Department in order to better promote a business-friendly environment. As part of the next steps, the Municipality is now moving forward with plans to hire a permanent Director through an open and competitive process.

“We are welcoming all applications and expect to hire the best candidate,” said John Norton, General Manager of Community Development. “I want to personally thank Stuart McFadden for his service over the past two years and providing leadership as the Acting Director,” said Norton. “Stuart has provided stability and leadership during a period of transition.”

Norton said McFadden will continue in his role as Acting Director until the recruitment process is completed. Prior to becoming Acting Director, McFadden held the position of Deputy Director of Economic Development.

“Chatham-Kent is open for business,” said McFadden.  He then added, “I look forward to working closely with the Community Development team, including Building Development and Planning Services with whom we can do great things together to help attract and grow businesses.”

Applicants can find the job posting details in the job the Municipality of Chatham-Kent’s Job Board. The application process closes Monday, October 1, 2018, at 4:30 p.m.
