CK Speaking Event: David Coletto on How to Achieve Success and Balance in Multi-generational Workplaces in Chatham-Kent

On March 4, 2019, national expert on multi-generational workplaces, David Coletto, will deliver a complimentary talk at the Chatham-Kent John D. Bradley Convention Centre from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. As Chatham-Kent's demographics and workplaces shift to include multiple generations, many local employers, community organizations, and tourism operators are looking at how they can engage young people. For businesses and other organizations to be successful into the future, and remain innovative, it will be important to attract and retain diverse customers and employees. This event will support efforts to future-proof Chatham-Kent as Coletto uses data from his industry-leading company Abacus to discuss multi-generational engagement in an informative and entertaining way.

"David's presentation at the SWOTC (South Western Ontario Tourism Corporation) Conference in London, Ontario last March was very practical. It highlighted ways to respond to challenges that local tourism stakeholders are facing when engaging a younger workforce and customer base. We are thrilled to be able to host him in Chatham-Kent," says Shannon Paiva, Supervisor Tourism Development, Community Attraction and Promotion, Municipality of Chatham-Kent.

Mayor Canniff said it is critical to the community's success that all groups and individuals impacted by changing workplace dynamics have their voice heard. "We are at our strongest when we include everyone in the discussions," he said. "Everyone brings a different perspective and set of experiences."

This event supports the work of the Chatham-Kent Community Leaders' Cabinet's Future Generation Project, the Chatham-Kent to the Power of Young People – CKy initiative, and the Tourism Development Management Plan's industry equipping efforts. Join us for an informative evening supported by Coletto's knowledge on workplace team building across age groups. After Coletto's talk, the CKy Community Action Plan will be shared for a look into local efforts to future-proof Chatham-Kent.

Seats are limited, so please register in advance on Eventbrite.

This free event is hosted by SWOTC in partnership with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent's Community Attraction and Promotion section, Chatham-Kent to the Power of Young People – CKy, Chatham-Kent Economic Development Services, Chatham-Kent Community Leaders' Cabinet, and the Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board.
