Curative Cannabis to Hold Job Fair

Chatham-Kent business, Curative Cannabis, in partnership with Economic Development, Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board, Goodwill Career Centre, and Employment and Social Services, is hosting a job fair on April 10, 2019 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Active Lifestyle Centre located at 20 Merritt Avenue, Chatham.

The event is open to anyone looking to apply for positions at Curative Cannabis. Attendees are invited to join one of two presentations that will provide an introduction to senior management and their goals for Curative Cannabis. The first presentation will start at 2:30 p.m. and the second repeat presentation will start at 5:45 p.m. It is important to note that it is not necessary to come to both sessions.

Following each presentation, attendees will have a chance to mingle with staff and complete a job application. Once attendees have completed their job applications, they will go to the pre-screen table where they will either be scheduled for an immediate one-on-one interview or will be called later for follow up.

The Curative Cannabis building, located at 10078 Longwoods Road near Louisville, is completing construction on a 30,000 square foot facility dedicated to producing Canada’s highest quality cannabis strains. Curative Cannabis is a new Chatham-Kent business and is looking to hire a total of 28 new staff in a wide range of positions, including:

  • Accountant / Bookkeeper
  • Quality Control Technician
  • Grow Technician
  • Inventory Manager
  • Harvesters
  • Sanitation Technician
  • Laboratory Manager / Technician
  • Front Office Staff (Reception / Administration)

This is the first time Curative Cannabis has approached the community looking to hire and most of the new positions are full-time, with the Harvester positions being part-time.

“This is another great company that has chosen to establish themselves in Chatham-Kent,” said Kim Cooper, Economic Development Officer with Chatham-Kent Economic Development. “Being new to the area, they reached out to us for help in accessing our local talented workforce and we were able to provide them with connections to some excellent partners as well as work to coordinate a job fair.”

“Everyone at the Municipality of Chatham-Kent has been great to work with and we look forward to a long and successful future in the area,” said Brenleigh Knutson, VP of Business Development at Curative Cannabis. “April is going to be an exciting time for us as we start to bring on new staff and accelerate growth until we are fully operational.”

The state-of-the-art facility has been equipped with an industrial grade multi-stage air treatment carbon filtration system to reduce and treat the emission of pollen, dust, and odours expelled from the facility. This will ensure that staff and the surrounding area will be protected.

Curative Cannabis is in strict compliance with Health Canada cultivation guidelines. In addition to artisan grown, premium cannabis cultivated on a commercial scale, Curative will offer its own in-house brand of high quality dry cannabis under the DS and Fitz Label.
