He has a Business Administration diploma from St. Clair College, specializing in Marketing. Throughout his time at St. Clair College, Taylor led record breaking fundraising initiatives as the Vice President of the Marketing Club. Continuing at St. Clair, Taylor was selected as the President for the Ontario Colleges Marketing Competition team where he and other team members competed against the top college marketing students across Ontario. Taylor has also studied at the University of Windsor, completed 18 Harvard ManageMentor courses and is currently taking online courses in LEAN Six Sigma.
Taylor served 5 years in the Royal Canadian Naval Reserves as a Naval Combat Information Operator (NCIOP) sailing out of Halifax, Nova Scotia and Esquimalt, British Colombia. In the role of a NCIOP, he spent most of his time in an Operations Room reporting radar contacts to the bridge, conducting presentation briefs to the Commanding Officer and developing clear, concise communication skills.
Taylor utilizes strong leadership skills gained from service and actively participating in team environments to give back to our communities as an AA volunteer hockey coach. He aims to be a positive role model for our youth by coaching applicable lessons on the ice and off. He is also a guest speaker with Historica Canada's "The Memory Project" and continues to seek ways to grow.
Taylor has served our community in multiple capacities since he started with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent in April 2013 as a By-law Enforcement Assistant in Building Development Services. In 2015, Taylor joined the Housing Services team as a Tenant Relations Analyst and fast forward to 2018, he began working as a Business Development Analyst before transitioning to being a part of Economic Development Service as a Business Consultant.
