Coming from a business and retail background, Stuart has a strong understanding of what it takes to help make businesses succeed including attracting and retaining new business for the region. He is also an expert in provincial and federal government relations and works directly with top officials.

Stuart prides himself of being a business problem solver and a resource that companies to turn to during both good time and also during crisis situations. His education background includes studying at the University of Waterloo, continuing studies in Executive Management, Leadership Development with Harvard MangeMentor, and being an active member of the Economic Developers Association of Canada.

Stuart has been with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent since 2007 and for the past two years he has been the Acting Director of Economic Development Services. Stuart's responsibilities include overseeing departmental Administration, Business Retention & Expansion and the Chatham-Kent Small Business Centre. Prior to this, Stuart spent over twenty years in the private sector in the grocery and retail sectors.
