His educational background which includes graduating with honours in the Agricultural Production and Management Course from Ridgetown College, 19 credit courses towards B.Sc. (Agriculture) degree through the University of Guelph, and is an ordained minister in the Pentecostal Assemblies of Canada.

Over the course of his 45 year career, Kim has become a wealth of knowledge and expertise frequently called upon both locally and across the country. In addition to helping agriculturally-based businesses grow through his work with Chatham-Kent Economic Development, he writes columns for farm magazines, newspapers, export newsletters, radio programs, and a weekly article for local newspapers on various agricultural topics since 2001.

Kim has spoken at numerous agriculture related functions in Canada and around the world. He has also travelled for 18 years to over 30 countries in promoting Canadian agriculture and making contacts with foreign government and industry officials and potential buyers. In addition, Kim has travelled with Prime Ministers, Provincial Premiers, and Canadian business people on 'Team Canada' trips to help promote Canada's farming and agricultural sectors.
