That Council moved into a Closed Session Meeting of Council pursuant to Section 239 of the Municipal Act, 2001, as amended, for the following reasons:

  • Proposed disposition of land by the Municipality with regard to Offer to Purchase – PIN 00863 0148, Lane, Plan 339, east of Stanley Street, Community of Merlin. Section 239(2)(c), Municipal Act, 2001.
  • Proposed disposition of land by the Municipality with regard to Surplus Property Declaration – Parkland at Churchill Park Road, Chatham. Section 239(2)(c), Municipal Act, 2001.
  • Personal matters about identifiable individuals including municipal or local board employees with regard to CK Plan 2035 Advisory Committee appointments. Section 239(2)(b), Municipal Act, 2001.
  • Advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose with regard to Process for Changing Development Charges – Public Utilities Commission. Section 239(2)(f), Municipal Act, 2001.
  • Litigation or potential litigation, including matters before administrative tribunals, affecting the municipality or local board, and advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose with regard to Wastewater Systems Effluent. Section 239(2)(e) & (f), Municipal Act, 2001.
  • Advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose with regard to Integrity Commissioner Investigations. Section 239(2)(f), Municipal Act, 2001.
  • Personal matters about an identifiable individual and advice that is subject to solicitor-client privilege, including communications necessary for that purpose with regard to former Mayor Compensation. Section 239(2)(b) & (f), Municipal Act, 2001.

By-law to amend By-law 4-1998, to authorize participation in the OMERS primary pension plan (“Primary Plan”) and the retirement compensation arrangement that provides benefits for members and former members of the Primary Plan (“RCA”) in respect of the Head of Council of the Corporation of the Municipality of Chatham-Kent identified herein.

That Chatham-Kent Council adjourn to its next Meeting to be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 and that Chatham-Kent Council authorize itself to meet in closed session on that day to discuss any matters permitted by The Municipal Act.
