Clearville Park History
It is very appropriate that Clearville should be the name and location of Orford Township's first park. It was here that the first settlement in the township started and it was near here in 1827 that the first "Town Meeting" was held. The creek, which flowed through the settlement, was called Clear Creek because of the clear sweet water which came from the lands above. It was only natural that the settlement was named Clearville and that Orford Council chose that name for our park.
