The Milner House is undergoing a major exterior restoration over the next few months. This work, the final stage of a complete restoration to return the home to its turn-of-the-century appearance that began in 1999, will include the reconstruction of the front and side verandas, repair of trim, excavation and foundation repairs, repointing of brick and paint. The work will also include interior restoration of the kitchen woodwork, reconstruction of the pantry and renovations to the basement. The project is being funded through a four-way partnership that includes the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, The Ontario Heritage Foundation, Human Resource Development Canada and local fundraising.
