The Municipality of Chatham-Kent is thrilled to offer an exciting subsidy for every Chatham-Kent school student who participates in an education program at the Kiwanis Theatre, Thames Art Gallery, Chatham-Kent Museum, Milner Heritage House, and Ridge House Museum.
When a teacher registers his/her class for a program/workshop, each student will receive 50% off the student cost. Subsidy dollars are limited, and available on a 'first come, first served' registration basis.
Alysson Storey, Manager of Culture & Special Events states, “The Education Programs at the Chatham Cultural Centre have been very well-received by elementary students and their teachers. We have also received positive feedback from parents whose children have attended the programs. We hope this subsidy will allow students to attend who might not have been otherwise able to, due to financial restraints. Although our programs are reasonably priced, some teachers have commented that this subsidy will essentially cover their bussing costs to the Cultural Centre. Although the funds are limited, we hope that a large number of teachers take advantage of this fund to rediscover the hands-on learning that the Chatham Cultural Centre has to offer.”
