Kent Agriculture Hall of Fame Overview

Council authorized the erection of an honour gallery in the lobby of the Kent County Municipal Building at 435 Grand Avenue West, Chatham, which would include the names of all individuals inducted into the Kent County Agricultural Hall of Fame.

With the restructuring of the County of Kent in 1998, which then became known as the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, this honour gallery was relocated to the Chatham-Kent Civic Centre, located at 315 King Street West, Chatham.

In addition to maintaining the honour gallery, an official album, including photographs and information of historical interest pertaining to each inductee selected over the years, was also established. This album includes photographs and relevant information, of the 124 persons who have been inducted into the Kent Agricultural Hall of Fame as of October, 2005.

To be eligible for induction into the Kent Agricultural Hall of Fame, an individual must have demonstrated unselfish achievement within the realm of agriculture and service to the rural community in Chatham-Kent and/or beyond. A person to be inducted does not have to be born in Chatham-Kent, and a person being inducted may be either living or deceased.

The Association is non-profit and any funds received are used solely for the continuing work of the Association. Membership is open to those interested in honouring those who have made contributions to agriculture and the rural community in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and/or beyond.
