Social Assistance in Chatham-Kent
Ontario Works helps individuals in our community who are in financial need by assisting with money for food, shelter, and other basic necessities. We can also help you look for and prepare for employment opportunities.
Ontario Works can help you temporarily until you are able to support yourself and your family.
You can apply for:
- emergency financial help
- ongoing financial help
- help with rent and/or energy costs
To be eligible, you must:
- live in Chatham-Kent
- need money right away to help with food and housing costs
- be willing to take part in activities that will help you find a job
