Drainage: An Agricultural Asset

Chatham-Kent has long been a leader in farm drainage. Chatham-Kent prides itself on having some of the most prime agricultural land in Canada. The drainage system established over the last 135 years has made the land what it is; farm land second to none. There are approximately 4,000 municipal drains in Chatham-Kent including open ditches and tile drains. The drainage system is a valuable resource developed through foresight, hard work, hard times and verbal or sometimes physical battles.

Please contact CKies@chatham-kent.ca for more information or 519-360-1998 to speak with a Drainage Superintendent or Drainage Analyst.
