Chatham-Kent Earns Excellence in Municipal Systems Award
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent, in partnership with Chatham-Kent Health Alliance has received an Excellence in Municipal Systems Award from the Municipal Information Systems Association (MISA). The award nomination, submitted by Concept Interactive Inc., highlighted the innovative Patient Appointment Request Service (PARS) which allows a citizen to request an appointment for any physician requested service at Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. The award is for both a municipality, and one or more individuals within the municipality, who have successfully undertaken a significant initiative or set a new standard that other municipalities may follow.
"Partnerships are vital to the long-term success of community technology initiatives. We are truly honoured to be involved with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. The award recognizes the strategic value partnerships bring and the collaborative vision for improved service delivery throughout the Community of Chatham-Kent," says Christopher Federico, President and CEO for Concept Interactive.
The Municipality of Chatham-Kent and Chatham-Kent Health Alliance are committed to providing exceptional customer service. This unique partnership project was made possible through the collaboration and cooperation of two distinct corporations working together to better serve the citizens of Chatham-Kent.
“The PARS application expands service options for hospital patients and furthers our respected partnership with the Municipality of Chatham-Kent,” says Sharon Pfaff, CIO for Chatham-Kent Health Alliance. “Together we can lead innovation and improve the quality of life for our community residents.”
At tonight’s Municipal Council Meeting, Mayor Diane Gagner accepted the award that was originally bestowed on June 6th, during the 2006 annual Municipal Information Systems Association Conference.
“As we continue to develop web based citizen-centred services in Chatham-Kent, it will be increasingly important to create bridges between the Municipality and business partners. This allows diverse groups to collaborate on common solutions and share technical infrastructure for the benefit of the entire community,” says Mayor Diane Gagner.
In the past three years, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent and its related partners have been recognized provincially, nationally and internationally, through a total of nine awards received for the advancement of technology services through the Chatham-Kent portal.
