The Information Technology Services department is responsible for monitoring, managing and maintaining information, project management, business analysis, applications, infrastructure, geographic information and communication systems. These systems include corporate databases, networks, telephone communication systems, hardware, software, security, web, applications, wide area networks (WAN) and local area networks (LAN). The Information Technology Services department provides support and consulting services for 109 locations dealing with over 56 different business units over 2500 square kilometres.

The Information Technology Services department is currently implementing an Information Technology Strategic Plan (ITSP) which addresses the information technology needs for the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. This report presents a five-year vision for information technology within the Municipality, including technology service level agreements. This plan reviews the technological and information services provided to all business areas of the Municipal government as well as the organization and governance of these services. The overall theme of the ITSP is "Survival Through Simplification, Stability and Sustainability". An Information Technology Strategic Steering Committee provides corporate governance in relationship to information technology
across all business areas.
