The Chatham-Kent Public Utilities Commission's Water & Wastewater department currently employees approximately 50 employees. All staff is certified with the appropriate certification for each facility which may include water treatment, water distribution, wastewater treatment and wastewater collection. They also receive over 40 hours of training per year in their field as mandated by the Ministry of the Environment.
Our source of water is both groundwater as well as lake water.

All of our systems are in compliance with the regulations mandated by the Ministry of the Environment.Employees conduct over 22,000 tests a year for sewage and over 10,000 samples a year in water to ensure that Chatham-Kent meets or exceeds all provincial standards and to ensure quality.
