CSPC Purpose, Primary Functions, and Membership
The Community Strategic Planning Committee (CSPC) is established to inspire and advise Council and community partners regarding ongoing, new, and/or emerging strategic priorities on matters pertaining to the and to track progress towards achieving a healthy, prosperous, green, cultural and learning community through the lens of civic engagement.
The primary functions of this committee is to:
- Assemble and provide data and trends through environmental scanning that is relevant to the community strategic plan and Council's Directions and Goals;
- In cooperation with the Mayor, Council and Administration, assume an advocacy role with leaders of Chatham-Kent organizations to ensure inclusion of appropriate data and community strategic goals in their planning activities;
- Offer advice and assistance to these organizations on how to incorporate community priorities into their planning activities (e.g., volunteer members attend strategic planning sessions and/or provide data sets); and,
- Assist the Mayor and Council gathering data, information, and trends relevant to the success of Council's Directions and Goals.
This committee meets once a month (with the exception of December) and seeks to achieve a broad representation. Minutes of the meeting are linked at the right-hand side of this page.
