Best Start Program

What is Best Start?

The Best Start program combines pre-school, junior kindergarten, senior kindergarten, quality child care, public health and parenting programs, and other supplemental services into one seamless system that supports families and children.  The program allows for children and parents to have access to these services and supports, regardless of their economic or social circumstances.

The Best Start concept creates a service hub that when fully implemented, wrap services around children and their families.  A hub is envisioned to provide services such as:

  • Core childcare services for children 0-12 years
  • Early learning programs for pre-J/K, S/K aged children
  • Parent/Child learning and play program
  • Access to a range of additional public programs such as
         Public Health programs
         Audiology and Speech Language Therapy
         Nutrition Programs
         Fitness/Recreation Programs
         Community Support Groups
