Job Description:

The Municipality of Chatham-Kent’s Library Services requires an individual to fill a permanent part-time Page position at the Tilbury Library for approximately ten (10) hours per week.

 

Responsibilities:

·         Shelving and shelf-reading of all library material

·         Emptying drop boxes

·         Maintaining the periodical and pamphlet collections

·         General clean-up duties both inside and outside the Library

·         Checking in returned materials

·         Assisting with programs

·         Other duties as may be assigned on an occasional basis

 

Qualifications:

·         Because of the responsibilities of this position, applicants must be 14 years of age or older

·         Attention to detail, neatness; good organizational skills and the ability to work independently

·         Physical stamina, flexibility, good physical health and the ability to lift 25-35 pounds (11.34-15.876 kilograms) are a necessity

·         Because of the environment this position will be working in, successful candidate will be required to furnish a Police Information Search (criminal reference check)

 

Compensation:

The hourly wage for this part-time position is minimum wage ($8.20 per hour for individuals under 18 years of age) plus vacation pay and statutory benefits in accordance with Employment Standards Act.
