The Municipality of Chatham-Kent requires a permanent part-time Maintenance Personnel/Stagehand for the Chatham Cultural Centre for up to 24 hours per week, which may include daytime, evening and weekend hours.
Responsibilities:
· Clean and maintain all public and staff areas of the Chatham Cultural Centre including washrooms, vacuuming, dusting, cleaning windows and doors
· Assist in the preparation of set-up for events in the studio spaces by erecting tables and chairs, setting up projection equipment and ensuring the room is in top condition for renters
· Act as staff on duty during evening events where full-time staff are not required or are otherwise occupied by another duty
· Assist in the load-in and load-out of events to the theatre
Qualifications:
· Secondary school graduation diploma, or equivalent combination of education and experience
· Physical strength and ability to perform moderate to heavy lifting, up to 200 pounds (90.72 kg) with team assistance
· Because this position may be required to travel, a valid Province of Ontario driver's license with a reliable motor vehicle is preferred
· Because of the environment this position will be working in, the successful candidate will be required to furnish an original Police Information Search (criminal reference check) prior to commencement of employment
Compensation:
This part-time position has an hourly wage range of $11.11 to $12.08 (based on grade 2B of the 2010 part-time non-union compensation plan), plus vacation and statutory benefits in accordance with the Employment Standards Act.
