Adult Crossing Guards

If you are someone who cares about the safety of children, and is trustworthy, dependable and willing to work a variety of hours, you should consider becoming an Adult Crossing Guard in one of our communities: Blenheim, Chatham, Dresden, Ridgetown, Tilbury, Wallaceburg or Wheatley.
An Adult Crossing Guard controls traffic and obeys all regulations to ensure the safe crossing of school children on designated roadways.
The ideal Adult Crossing Guard would:
· Be enthusiastic and personable
· Be able to work outside in all weather conditions
· Be able to make quick and accurate decisions while keeping the safety of children at all times
· Possess good observation skills
· Be able to interact with children and the general public in a positive manner
· Possess positive customer service skills’
· Be able to relay information in a clear and concise manner with the ability to handle stressful situations

This part-time position has an hourly wage range of $11.11 to $12.08, plus 4% vacation pay. Back-up positions have a weekly wage of $10.00 (plus hourly wage when required for back-up).
· You will be required to work outdoors in inclement weather conditions while having the ability to stand for long periods of time and be in good physical condition
· You must be available to work split shifts and be able to provide your own transportation
Applications for the 2009/2010 school year will be accepted starting August 20, 2010, for a period up to May 31, 2011.
Because of the environment this position will be working in, successful candidate will be required to furnish a Police Information Search (criminal reference check), prior to commencing employment.
