Chatham-Kent Energy Inc. is a leading local electric distribution company located in southwest Ontario.  The Director of Business Development offers candidates a unique opportunity to contribute to the organization’s long-term growth objectives.  The primary responsibility of the role is to evaluate and develop strategic opportunities that meet Chatham-Kent Energy’s corporate objectives.

 

Job Responsibilities include:

          Joining the senior management team to identify and research regulated and unregulated business opportunities

          Building and maintaining business relationships, leading negotiations, and managing key projects

          Analyzing investment opportunities using a range of financial modeling tools

          Maintaining a current knowledge of local, national and international political and economic trends, including regulatory and legislative changes that may affect the business

          Undertaking a wide range of due diligence activities including preparation of financial and business impact studies

          Ongoing monitoring and analysis of current and future business plans to ensure customer needs are exceeded, risks are managed and shareholder value is enhanced

 

This exciting new role will appeal to a wide range of candidate experiences. The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering with seven or more years of relevant business experience.  In addition, two or more years experience in a regulated utility environment is preferred.

 

All successful candidates will demonstrate:

          Well-developed financial, marketing and research skills

          A high level of initiative and independence

          Well-developed inter-personal skills and communication skills, especially oral and written/presentation skills

 

Compensation:

A competitive compensation package with full benefits including OMERS pension plan will be provided.
