Nomination packages for the Monday October 25 municipal election are now available to anyone who wishes to run for a seat in Chatham-Kent Council. The nomination forms may be picked up and filed at the Civic Centre or any municipal centre in the Municipality of Chatham-Kent. The form must be signed by the candidate and may be filed in person or by an agent on any day during regular office hours.
A nomination filing fee of $200 applies to candidates for the office of Mayor and a $100 fee applies to candidates for any other office. The fees are payable by cash, certified cheque or money order at the time of filing the nomination form. Until prospective Candidates file a nomination form, it is unlawful to raise campaign funds or incur campaign expenses.
