Community Education Campaigns
The co-ordinated use of multiple channels (television, radio, newspapers, posters and pamphlets, billboard ads, community forums and contests) to achieve specific objectives. It differs from the ongoing provision of information by having definite start and finish dates.

National Non Smoking Week Campaign to remind the public of the health risks of smoking and second hand smoke

Smoke Free for Life campaign to encourage adults to make their homes and cars smoke-free

Try It! campaign to encourage all adults to try new activities at least 30 minutes a day, four days a week for two consecutive weeks
Community Events
Can include a wide range of activities such as a public forum, a workshop, education sessions, or wellness displays in malls staffed for interaction with community members.
- Mall displays to increase awareness of community resources to promote healthy eating, physical activity and smoke free living.

Public health staff members participate in many coalitions and community committees to coordinate activities to increase awareness and knowledge, and to build skills. These include:
