Chocolatier launches new line of delectable cakes
Pauline Goodal, Eve Chocolatier expanding her product offering with special occasion cakes
Inside a chocolate boutique that would fit in the trendiest downtowns, a family of chocolate makers has expanded the selection of treats with their newest delectable creation.
The innovative thinkers behind Eve Chocolatier, the creators of gourmet truffles, chocolates and confections, have added another sweet layer to their small business success story in Chatham with Small Celebration Cakes, two-tier custom-made cakes for up to 30 people. Vanilla chiffon or chocolate chiffon cake with lemon, chocolate or chocolate raspberry filling is decorated with delicious butter cream icing and edible embellishments made of rich chocolate instead of sugar.
“Knowing how to work with chocolate we wanted to tie our main business into the cakes and thought ‘let’s do something different,’” owner Pauline Goodal explains. “I haven’t come across too many cake makers that use chocolate as an embellishment.” The artistic embellishments are hand sculpted by Goodal and her sister Amanda Griffith who has a degree in Fine Arts.
“Pauline has consistently expanded her offerings and come up with creative ideas that have contributed to her success. Small Celebration Cakes is just another step,” says Jana Green, Entrepreneurship Development Officer, Chatham-Kent Business Enterprise Centre.
Located in the historic King and William block in downtown Chatham, Eve Chocolatier is entering its fifth year in business. Goodal hopes to open a second Ontario location in the next year.
