Kendra Ainsworth is a curator, arts administrator, and writer based in the Greater Toronto Area. She holds a Masters in Museum Studies from the University of Toronto with a focus on interpretation of contemporary art. Her practice focuses on collaboration with artists, providing accessible gallery experiences, and removing both intangible and tangible barriers to public engagement with contemporary art. Recent projects include the exhibitions Pattern Migration (2016), Beyond the Pines: Homer Watson and the Contemporary Canadian Landscape (2015), and Be a Sport (2015) at the Art Gallery of Mississauga, and she has previously curated exhibitions at the Gardiner Museum, Toronto and the Art Gallery of Burlington. Ainsworth is currently the Curator of Contemporary Art at the Art Gallery of Mississauga, and sits on the board of Gallery 44.
Jurying will be a two stage process. Preliminary jurying will be conducted through electronic submissions. Selected artists will be notified by email to deliver artwork to the Thames Art Gallery for final selection.
• Open to all artists living in Ontario.
• All media accepted.
• All works must be original and completed within the last two years.
• Works previously exhibited at the Thames Art Gallery are not eligible.
• Professional artists only. Work done in class or under supervision is not eligible.
• A maximum of 2 works may be submitted by each artist.
A non-refundable handling fee of $30.00 per artist must be mailed/completed before the deadline. Applicants are invited to mail a cheque with their submission (made payable to the Municipality of Chatham-Kent) OR, payment can be made by credit card by calling the Cultural Centre box office, toll free at 1.866.807.7770 or locally at 519.354.8338

Artist statements should not exceed 200 words, and be sent as PDFs or DOCs.

All works must be ready for display and clearly labeled with the name of artist and title of work. Two-dimensional work must be suitably framed and wired; any required hanging hardware must be included. Works requiring special installation must have written instructions.
TRANSPORTATION AND INSURANCE
All shipping arrangements and costs are the responsibility of the submitting artist. The Thames Art Gallery will not accept any collect shipments. The Thames Art Gallery will not be responsible for insuring the works while in transit. All works will be insured by the Thames Art Gallery while on the premises.
ARTIST FEES AND AWARDS
The applicable CARFAC group show fee will be paid to each selected artist.
A Juror’s Choice Award in the sum of $1000.00 will be presented to the selected artist at the opening reception.

Notification by phone or email of works accepted for final jurying.
Work selected for final jurying to be delivered to the Thames Art Gallery on or before this date.
Exhibition opens at the Thames Art Gallery, reception and awards presentation to take place 7 - 9PM.

Selected artists will be contacted to arrange for return of work during this week.
