ELIGIBILITYEye for Art is a community art project presented in partnership with the Thames Art Gallery and ARTspace. Eye for Art is an exhibition of artwork by Chatham-Kent artists. All works displayed are for sale. Everyone is invited to attend a reception and awards presentation on November 19, 2016 @ 6PM
The exhibition is open to all Chatham-Kent artists. All media accepted. All works must be original and completed within the last two years. A maximum of 3 works may be submitted by each artist. All works must be for sale and include sale price.
Artwork must be delivered for jurying to the Thames Art Gallery, 75 William Street North, Chatham (Murray Street Entrance) on October 6 & 7 between 1-5pm.
Adam Matak exhibits in both private and public galleries and is collected internationally. He received his MFA from Tufts University in conjunction with the School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston in 2015. His work was used for Art Toronto’s (formerly Toronto International Art Fair) advertising campaign, he has been published in Art Works, a Canadian art history textbook, and reviewed by The Globe & Mail, The National Post, and the Boston Globe.
A non-refundable handling fee of $25.00 for up to 3 works must accompany the entry form. Cheques made payable to
the Municipality of Chatham-Kent.
All works must be ready for display. Two-dimensional work must be suitably framed and wired. Works requiring special installation must be accompanied by explanatory diagrams or photographs.
A commission of 30% will be collected by the Thames Art Gallery on all sales. Include commission in sale price.
TRANSPORTATION & INSURANCE
All shipping arrangements and costs before and after selection are the responsibility of the submitting artist. The Thames Art Gallery will not accept any collect shipments. All works will be insured by The Cultural Centre while on the premises.
A total of $2,000 will be presented:
Three awards of excellence - $500 each
One people’s choice award - $500

Reception and Awards November 19. Doors open at 6 PM.
The artist, by submission of entry, grants the Thames Art Gallery the right to photograph accepted work for publicity,
educational and reference purposes. No entry may be withdrawn once it has been accepted.
