Build your family tree at CKPL!

Chatham-Kent Public Library (CKPL) has a wealth of print and digital genealogical resources available to help you build your family tree. Along with the ever-popular Ancestry Library Edition database, each library branch holds a collection of local history materials specific to their communities.

Consult a variety of resources in print and online at various locations, including:

  • Books by and about the people of Chatham-Kent and area
  • Black History Collection
  • cemetery transcripts

Additional resources are available in the Kent Branch of the Ontario Genealogical Society (OGS) located on the 2nd floor of the Chatham Branch of CKPL. Both library staff and OGS volunteers are available to help you get started and to help make your family history research a little easier.
