Let's Talk Food

What is this?

The Chatham Kent Public Health Unit,
Healthy Communities Partnership, and Food Link, wanted to hear about what food meant to you!

 Why did we do it?

In October 2011, Chatham-Kent Municipal Council approved an amendment to the Municipal strategic plan to include a Sustainable Food Security Master Plan. As a next step, in the Spring of 2012, thirty focus groups across the community were held and residents were invited to complete on online survey.

Results from this community engagement will be presented on Wednesday, March 20th at Club Lentinas.

Results will indicate what our current food system looks like in Chatham-Kent, and will be an opportunity to create an action plan.

  • This includes food production, processing, consumption, waste, preparation and so on.
  • It will tell us what people eat, why they shop there, what do they like, what do they not like, and what do they need but cannot get.
