Who’s Aging in Chatham-Kent? 

Everyone!  From the time you are born
you begin to age.

According to Health Canada, the number of persons living in Canada over the age of 65 is growing.

  • In 1921, 1 out of every 20 persons in Canada was over the age of 65.
  • In 2001, 1 out of every 8 persons in Canada was over the age of 65.

In Chatham-Kent 18% of the population is over the age of 65 (Census 2011). 

In 2011, approximately 1 out of every 6 persons in Chatham-Kent was over the age of 65 (Census 2011)
The population for adults over the age of 65 living in Chatham-Kent is expected to grow 10 – 15% by the year 2036 (Ontario Minister of Finance).

Not really a surprise considering all Chatham-Kent has to offer.
