There are many community partners that provide support services to businesses that are located in
Chatham-Kent or businesses considering locating to the community.

Employment Placement Program

The Employment Placement Program is a free, easy-to-use service designed to save your business time and money when hiring. Participants are pre-screened based on the requirements of your business. Employers may be eligible for up to $4,500.00 in funding for training and WSIB coverage for 6 months for new hire(s). Speak to an Employment Placement Specialist by calling 519.351.1228

Economic Development Services for Business

BizPaL is an online service that simplifies the business permit, licence and other compliance regulation process for entrepreneurs, governments, and third party business service providers. Easy and convenient, BizPaL provides Canadian businesses with one-stop access to permit and licence information for all levels of government.

Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board

The Chatham-Kent Workforce Planning Board collects and distributes data pertaining to local workforce planning and development. The Board's intent is to identify needs and facilitate solutions to attract, train and retain a sustainable workforce through community partnerships. The Planning Board is made up of community stakeholders who are overseeing strategies to conquer identified workforce issues in the community.

Community Futures Development Corporation of Chatham-Kent  

Community Futures Development Corporation of Chatham-Kent offers one-on-one business planning, financing, coaching and counselling. Programs and funding are available to assist with starting a new business or expanding a current operation. Goodwill Career Centre

The Goodwill Career Centre offers job matching and job placement programs for businesses in Chatham-Kent. Qualifying employers may be eligible to receive assistance with training costs.

St. Clair College Employment Centre

The St Clair College Employment Centre provides employers help identifying their human resource skill requirements, while also offering job matching. Businesses hiring within the Wallaceburg area can access services.

Summer Company

Go beyond your typical summer jobs: Turn your ideas into a business. Do you have ideas for creating your own company this summer? If you’re a student 15-29 years old in Ontario, you can turn those ideas into a real business this summer. The Summer Company Program provides up to $3,000, hands-on coaching and mentoring to help you start and operate your business.

Futurpreneur Canada

Futurpreneur Canada supports young entrepreneurs with up to $45,000 in financing, an expert business mentor for up to two years, and resources to help you plan, manage and grow your business.

Students

Students seek employment to gain skills, and to complement their education. They are eager to put their skills to the test in jobs related to their academic field. Post your staff hiring positions on the Community Jobs Board.
