Job Resources
Employment & Social Services has a number of programs and services to help you find work. There are also many other job resources available to you within our community.
Employment Resource Centres
The Employment Resource Centres are one place where you can start to make the most of your job search. These centres are operated by Employment and Social Services Division and open to the public for free drop in services.
Employment Resource Advisors staff the centres and help you find job leads, information on finding work, or education and training options. They also offer workshops on a regular basis to help you compete in today's job market. If you are receiving Ontario Works Assistance, you may attend these centres periodically to meet with your worker by appointment for further employment counselling.
At the centres you can get help and learn with tools such as handouts, computers, internet, software programs, books and brochures. Staff can also show you to helpful job searching websites such as: Community Job Board, Municipality of Chatham-Kent Job Board, Service Canada Job Bank, Indeed.ca or Eluta.ca.
The Resource Centres are a space where you can use a computer, the internet or and a resume using specialized software. No internet, no problem! No printer, no problem! We have all these things and more. Our job here at the Resource Centre is to help.
